Mt. Rainier Elementary School has school based committees let by teachers and PTO-led committees led by parent volunteers that work to advance priorities of the school. If you are interested in providing resources or support in some way to one of these committees, please let us know.
PTO Committees
Grounds Committee: works to ensure the school’s physical presence reflects the strong arts community it is located in, is an appealing school inside and out for parents and community members, and meets the goals for sustainability, active education, inclusion and more.
Community Carnival Committee: works to plan, coordinate and execute our annual community carnival event in the Spring. This committee is responsible for conceptualizing and planning the logistics, attractions, entertainment and food for the carnival. The committee also leads fundraising efforts to support the event.

Academic Committees:
Literacy Committee – Reading/Math Night, Supper with Seuss, Incentives for Reading/School wide Reading Activities, MCAP, provide Professional Development for staff for the SY 19-20.
STEM Committee – STEM Fair/Art Night, Reading/Math Night, Pi-Day, MCAP, provide Professional Development for staff for the SY 19-20.
Arts Integration Committee – Plan Arts Integration Programs, Residencies, and Assemblies, provide Professional Development for staff for the SY 19-20.
School Culture Committees:
Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Committee – PBIS Quarterly Events, School Store, Eagle of the Month, Student Recognition, Showcase #1: Monthly for Eagle of the Month.
Green Team Committee – Clean Up Green Up (Fall and Spring), School Recycling Program.
Multicultural Committee – Multicultural Night, Black History Month Program, Men of Mt. Rainier Breakfast (fall), Moms of Mt. Rainier Breakfast (spring), Monthly Bulletin Board.
